August's Weapon of the month brings us to the polearm that was the Pike. Otherwise known as the spear's bigger and better grandson.


Hello, we have posted a new installment in our Weapon of the Month Series.

The article covers the Pike. No, this is not the fish but the weapon. These grew from the humble spear and became instruments of death for charging heavy cavalry on the renaissance battlefield. As long as 22 feet and as big around at the base as a man's wrist these steel tipped pole arms were carried by every modern army for nearly four hundred years.
