New to the military history section of Suite 101 are articles of interest on Gabrielle D'Annunzio, the last of the pirate kings.

We have posted a very interesting look at a curious military leader of the 20th Century, Gabrielle D'Annunzio. A renaissance man who is remembered as a playwright, novelist, anarchist, dreamer and politician. Already famous at the outbreak of the Great War, he gained even more fame with the Italian air service. In the process he lost an eye and bombarded Vienna with propaganda leaflets.

Coming within the next few days we will post an article on another form of pirate, except on land, the Confederate partisan raiders of the US Civil War.

Thanks for looking and stay tuned!
